What the app stores, and where

EarnTick keeps two things in your phone's own app storage, which is private to the app and to your device:

• Your earnings history — the shifts you record: hours, start and end times, the hourly rate applied, any tax percentage, cash and card tips, and the optional note naming where you worked.
• Your settings — your hourly rate, currency, tax preference, theme, and the state of a timer you have running.

That is the whole of it. There is no user ID, no device identifier, no location, no contacts, no photos, and no advertising identifier.

EarnTick asks for one permission, and only if you ask it to: notifications, for the optional reminder that you are still clocked in. The switch is off until you turn it on, and turning it on is the only moment anything is requested. The reminder is scheduled on your phone by your phone — no message is sent from anywhere, nothing about it reaches us or anyone else, and switching it off cancels it. Leave it off and the app never requests a single system permission.

What leaves your phone

Only what you deliberately send, and only where you send it. EarnTick can produce two kinds of file:

• A CSV export of a tax year, for your own records or your accountant.
• A backup file holding your history and settings, so you can move to a new phone or recover from a lost one.

Both are handed to your phone's normal share sheet, and what happens next is entirely your choice — save it to Files, put it in your own cloud drive, email it to yourself. The file never passes through us, because there is no “us” to pass through: EarnTick has no server.

The two things you can switch on

Both live in Settings, both start off, and neither does anything at all until you turn it on.

• Reminders — a notification if you are still clocked in after a number of hours you choose. Turning it on is the only time the app asks for a permission. The reminder is scheduled on your phone by your phone; no message is sent from anywhere and nothing about it reaches us.
• Crash reports — if the app breaks, this sends the technical details of the failure so it can be fixed. A report contains a stack trace and your phone model, and nothing else: no earnings, no shifts, no workplace names, no identifier for you or your device. Reports are processed by Sentry as our processor. Leave the switch off and no reporting code is ever started, so nothing can be sent even by accident.

Third parties

EarnTick contains no analytics, attribution or advertising library, and nothing that profiles you. The only third party it can ever contact is the crash-reporting service named above, and only while you have that switch on.

Children

EarnTick is a tool for tracking paid work and is not directed at children. Since it collects no personal data from anyone, it collects none from children either.

Deleting your data

Uninstalling EarnTick removes everything it has stored, permanently and immediately. Unless you switched crash reports on there is nothing held anywhere else, so there is no request to make and nobody to make it to; if you did, switch it off and write to the address below and any reports will be deleted. If you would like to keep a copy of your records first, use Settings → Your data → Save a backup before you uninstall.

Your rights

Rights under the GDPR and similar laws — access, correction, erasure, portability — exist against whoever holds your data. Here that is only you, on your own device. You can read everything the app holds inside the app itself, edit or delete any entry, take a portable copy at any time with the backup and CSV exports, and erase all of it by uninstalling.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new date at the top. Since the app collects nothing, any change is likely to be a clarification rather than a change in what happens to your data.
